What is microcement?
Microcement is a hand-applied decorative surface system used to create continuous finishes across correctly prepared substrates. The finished appearance is created through the applicator's technique, chosen texture, colour and protective system.
What makes Cemento 3D different?
Cemento 3D is designed to offer more creative range than a conventional flat microcement aesthetic. It can be finished with restrained tonal movement or shaped into more expressive, sculptural surfaces.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
It can form part of a bathroom finish system over a suitable, correctly prepared substrate. Microcement does not replace any waterproofing required by Australian building regulations. Waterproofing, junctions, falls, penetrations and movement joints must be completed and assessed before application.
Can it be applied over tiles?
Potentially, provided the tiled substrate is stable, well bonded and appropriately prepared. Loose tiles, movement, moisture, contamination, hollow areas and unsuitable joints must be rectified before coating.
Does every finish look identical?
No. Nikkolor surfaces are hand finished. Natural tonal movement, trowel character and controlled variation are inherent parts of the material rather than printed repetition.
How much does one kit cover?
The current Cemento 3D kits are allocated for up to 15 m² over the specified build-up. Actual usage depends on substrate condition, texture, thickness, wastage and applicator technique.
Is professional installation recommended?
Yes. Correct substrate assessment, preparation, reinforcement and sealing materially affect performance. Nikkolor Australia recommends professional application or appropriate product training.
Can I order a colour sample?
Contact Nikkolor Australia before placing a system order if colour selection is critical. Digital displays cannot accurately reproduce every mineral colour, texture or level of movement.
